The structural design of the Passenger Station Building and its piled foundation system was meticulously engineered to ensure the long-term stability of the historic Kandilli Maritime Station along the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul. This project required a performance-based design approach to address two major engineering challenges: withstanding the dynamic forces exerted by docking ships and ensuring resilience against the region’s high seismic activity.
