Regarding this huge onshore terminal, design review services were provided to the contractor before notice to proceed for construction. In the content of the design review, the design documents and the construction drawings of all infrastructure and superstructure systems were reviewed to verify that the design documents and the construction drawings are fully compatible with the related current specifications. Ceyhan terminal as the end point of the Baku, Ceyhan, Tblisi pipeline situated at the exit point to the Mediterranean Sea functions as an important loading terminal in transferring the crude oil extracted from Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea to the off shore countries. As the related area is high seismic risk zone and the importance factor of safety was highly demanded, earthquake design issue has become a serious issue to be taken into account.
