The facility, supported by prefabricated cantilever columns and primarily housing robotic manufacturing systems, employed approximately 6,000 people working in three shifts per day. The client requested an investigation into applicable innovative retrofitting alternatives to prevent business interruption and allow production to continue during retrofitting. The scope of services provided included a site-specific seismic hazard analysis report and a high-performance earthquake engineering feasibility study using energy-dissipating seismic devices, as well as cost analysis, planning, and budgeting.
