Botas International Limited, Ceyhan Marine Terminal Performance Assessment and Seismic Retrofitting
Location: Ceyhan, Adana, Türkiye
Client: Botaş International Limited (BIL)
Scale: 2500 m Length
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil Pipeline extends approximately 1,076 km through Türkiye, terminating at the Ceyhan Marine Terminal. Specialized engineering services were conducted for the Terminal Jetty, including detailed visual inspections, site-specific hazard analysis (SHA), structural performance assessments and retrofitting designs, all in compliance with relevant local and international standards. The inspection involved a detailed survey of the Jetty piles at below and above water level, and a deck-level survey of the structural elements such as elastomeric bearings, pile heads, beams and the deck. Performance assessment of the essential Jetty structures including the approach trestle, control building, loading platform and dolphins were performed with nonlinear time history analysis (NTHA) with considering SHA report. Based on the inspections and the assessment results, appropriate repairs were recommended for identified deterioration and retrofitting design was performed for the structures with inadequate performance level.
